Funds have been raised for Zynga's spay. I have received two promises of checks in the mail and one PayPal donation and the three together add up to $85. I will let everyone know when her appointment is. They may want to wait until she is finished with the medications from the incident yesterday.
UPDATE 11/15/12: It looks like I need to change my wish. Zynga is on the way to the vet right now -- she ate an entire bottle of children's chewable ibuprofen. I am thankful that she waited until payday to do this but really don't know what we're going to do. The phones have been off for over a month and I've been driving a car without tags for two months. We were really hoping to take car of one of those things this pay period. I think that saving her life will have to take priority over getting her spayed or any of the other things I needed to do.
My son had to go to urgent care yesterday and I had just picked up his prescription and a new bottle of ibuprofen for his fever last night. I forgot to put it away and she woke me up this morning with the chewed up bottle in her mouth. We searched and none of the pills are to be found. My husband rushed home from work in the car with tags and has taken her to the vet. We'll just worry about the bill later after we know she will be okay.

Back in February my daughter found a puppy behind the Redbox machine at Dillons. It was cold and scared. Having lost our dog to cancer the past July, and having said when it was time to get another dog one would come to us, we brought the puppy home. We didn't know it at the time but she turned out to be a pit bull -- a breed that is required to be spayed and microchipped among other things in Springfield, Missouri.
Her name is Zynga. She is in heat as I type this. Last week new neighbors moved in next door. They have two large, un-neutered male dogs and I am unable to even let Zynga outside to do her business until she is spayed because the existing fence wouldn't be much of a challenge to her or to the dogs next door given the motivation. Pee pee pads are expensive and inadequate to the task.
Zynga needs to be spayed as soon as possible. Her behavior has been very difficult to handle during this heat cycle and my six cats will thank you to have her calmed down.
It has been a difficult year full of broken down cars, broken washing machines, broken dryers, broken furnaces, broken toilets, and anything else that can ensure that we don't have a dime left the day after pay day. I do not work outside the home but an a full-time student finishing up my junior year this semester. I returned to school to finish my degree after 25 years away. My son is on the autism spectrum and if he really needs an at home parent at this time due to transitioning into public school and his many appointments for occupational and physical therapy, etc. My husband works but it's never enough.
There is a low-cost spay-neuter clinic in our area, SAAFhouse Spay-Neuter Clinic, who will spay her for $75.00 and microchip her for $20.00. They tell me they can schedule her surgery about two weeks after I pay for it.
My email/paypal address is firstname.lastname@example.org. If I get more money than is needed any excess will be either refunded or donated to SAAF.
